Whatever their age, lessons are tailored to a student’s individual needs and always remain fun and lively while maintaining focus on the building blocks of music in general and the piano specifically.

I am foremost a classical musician but also play jazz and I teach both. I also coach, helping those stuck along the way to understand their process

Theory (classical and jazz)
Technique, with reference to the principles of the Alexander Technique
Improvising (Classical and jazz)
Study Techniques
Memorising
Performing
Exams (Classical and jazz)
Harmony (Classical and jazz)
Sight-reading

Exams
These are not compulsory but can certainly provide a useful motivation, or guideline along one’s journey.  I can offer either the Trinity/Guildhall or the Associated Board exam syllabus. 

Fees

To be discussed-usually around £50-£60ph or part thereof for both private lessons and consultations, either in person or online. Some bursaries/concessions available

Dates/conditions

I primarily teach during the school terms but when available I offer lessons outside these times. My terms of business are 48 hours notice or fees in lieu.
